Standard 7: Professional Growth & Responsibility

Teachers assume responsibility for professional growth, performance, and involvement as individuals and as members of a learning community.

Celebrating Unique Titans Everyday (CUTE) Committee

I have taken an active role as a member of the CUTE Committee at Big Creek Elementary School. The goal of this committee is to celebrate different backgrounds, cultures, abilities, etc. school wide. I helped the committee plan a month long program in March where each grade level reads and discusses different children's books that celebrate differences each week. I also helped to design and construct interactive bulletin boards in the school cafeteria that correspond with each book.  On March 17, 2025, I was recognized by Berea City School District for my work with this committee.

Professional Development

Participating in various professional development opportunities has enriched my skills and knowledge in key areas. Engaging with AI technologies has opened avenues for innovative teaching strategies, while exploring the science of reading has deepened my understanding of effective literacy practices. Additionally, learning about success criteria has empowered me to set clear goals for student achievement, and co-teaching modules have enhanced collaboration and instructional effectiveness. These experiences collectively contribute to my ongoing growth as educator.

"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself."
